Legislation Passed Last Semester:
C.C. 2401: A Resolution In Support Of Enhancing Pre-Law Support On The Moody College Career Services Website
- This legislation is a resolution in support of adding more pre-law opportunities and support on the Moody Career Services to better support the under represented Pre-Law Moody students.
- Next Steps: We are working with Moody’s Career Center and Dean Alavardo to help get more support and information on the website and possibly at the next career fair. We are also working to get pre-law Moody students to have more preparation for going into law school to be the most prepared as possible.
C.C.2402: A Resolution In Support of Including The Cost of Course Materials to the Course Schedule For Registration
- This legislation is a resolution in support of the addition of more comprehensive information regarding the cost and accessibility of course materials such as subscriptions, textbooks, and other supplies to the course schedule.
- Next Steps: This legislation is in the planning stage! We are working with several administrators and program leaders to get as many people on board as possible. We are also working to find the best, most productive solution to the issue on a University level to benefit all students.
C.C. 2403: A Resolution To Include Biographies For Moody Advisors
- This legislation advocates for the inclusion of a short advisor biography under each name to provide more information for students, emulating what the McCombs School of Business has done for their advisors. This will help with the recent change to advisors being open to every student, so that students can better know what advisor would best fit their needs.
- Next Steps: We have contacted administrators and are working to ensure Advisros upload their biographies to the Moody Advising Office website, so students know more about their advisors.
Initiatives Last Semester:
- Printed Policy Suggestion Posters and placed them around the University to help better understand Moody students issues and opinions.
Goals for this Spring 2025:
- Working with Senate of College Councils to expand Adobe Creative Cloud accessibility for all students.
- Creating a Communication Council Ad-Hoc Committee for peer advising to help advise students with experiences and knowledge of their fellow upper-standing students.
- Working to help further official peer-advising to be supported by the Moody Advising Office with positions for students to help their peers.
- Expanding Moody Career Fair employers to better fit into more Moody majors career paths.
- Working with administrators to add Microwaves back to Moody at building such as DMC, CMA, CMB.
